A recent winner of a David Bellamy Silver Conservation Award, the
Hengar Manor Country Park extends across 35 beautiful
acres of landscaped gardens, mature woodland and still-water lakes. Nestling in the heart of
the Cornish countryside, the unspoiled 17th
century Hengar Manor estate provides the perfect
foil to the stresses of modern living.
The park offers a superb range of activities. You can practice your golf on the
nine-hole pitch and putt course, enjoy a round of
crazy golf or a game of tennis on one of the all-weather courts, try your luck on one of
the three private and well-stocked fishing lakes,
or just take time out to explore the park and its teeming wildlife. All the equipment you're
likely to need can be hired at the Manor. For youngsters, there's a well-equipped
woodland adventure playground where they can burn
off their excess energy.
Indoors, there's a leisure complex with a pool, waterfall and slide, a separate pool
for toddlers and a games room. Or you could indulge yourself in the popular beauty
treatment centre with its whirlpool spa and relaxing
sauna and steam room. It has a solarium and also offers massage, reflexology and
aromatherapy treatments.
During school holiday periods, at various times throughout the day, the Hedgehog
Club provides creative activity, music and treasure hunts for children from three to eight years;
for older children, the Freddie Fox Club offers supervised tennis, kwik cricket, basketball and
other sports. And every evening during the summer months, there's live entertainment to suit
every taste.
The Park offers a wide choice of accommodation. There are Scandinavian-style lodges,
fully insulated and double-glazed _ perfect for all year round holidays. Or you might prefer the
Hengar Park bungalows or luxury villas, all set within the bounds of the old apple and
cherry
orchards. Four properties provide accommodation for between six and ten people. Then there are the
17th century Coach House Cottages with a choice of one, two or three bedrooms. Finally, there
are the gracious and elegant Manor House apartments which nestle under the roof of
the magnificent 17th century Manor House.
All the properties are comprehensively equipped for a self-catering holiday but if you fancy
a meal out, there's an Italian-style restaurant serving home-made pizza and fresh pasta dishes,
as well as The Tavern which offers more traditional fare. If you want to eat in but don't want
to cook, there's always the popular takeaway service.
