This a "proper" nursery specialising in herbs and herbaceous perennials. With hundreds of varieties of herbs and a few thousand flowering perennials, be prepared to lose yourself in a sea of blazing colour and scent. That's not all _ the nursery also offers a wide range of shrubs, grasses, climbers, alpines, marginal and water plants, fruit and ornamental trees, vegetable plants, bedding and hanging baskets. There are even whole areas dedicated to the more specific challenges of shady and ground cover gardening. Originally the site of a water mill dating from the 17th century, there are four acres of plants, all in a lovely countryside setting. The nursery is open every day of the year, from 9am to 6pm from April to October; from 9am to 5pm, November to March; and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
