Mel has been interested in New Age philosophies for some 20 years and is knowledgeable in many areas; Myrna is a trained Stress Consultant and Aromatherapist. Altared St8 sells a wide range of New Age and pagan products including incenses, essential oils, candles, witches, dragons, Tarot cards, jewellery, specialist teas and infusions plus some homemade products _ runes, wands, soaps, creams and lotions. Mel performs rune readings daily in the shop and Myrna offers aromatherapy massage. The shop also sells a wide range of different types of ornaments, not just those of pagan interest. It also stocks dream catchers, Native American items, Chinese items, Buddhas, books, clothing and unusual and interesting gift items. There are also paintings and crafts from local artists, an extensive selection of role-playing games, card and trading games, and strategy games. "Our stock is ever-changing," says Mel, "and we strive to find something different that other shops don't have."
