Bruton House Restaurant with Rooms
2-4 High Street, Bruton, Somerset BA10 0AA
Tel: 01749 813395
Back in 1980, the beautiful building which is Bruton House
was in imminent danger of demolition. Miraculously, the grand
old building was saved and it is now occupied by
Bruton House Restaurant & Rooms which impressively combines one of
the country's top restaurants and quality accommodation.
The restaurant specialises in seasonal, locally sourced cuisine
with separate menus for lunch and dinner. Boasting numerous
awards, dining here is a memorable experience and booking is
essential. A typical menu might offer Buttered Dorset Crab with
foaming bisque as a starter; Loin of Clarendon Estate Venison with
a thyme and juniper sauce as a main course; and poached
pink rhubarb with nougat glace as a dessert. To complement your meal, there's a well-balanced
wine list to choose from.
There are currently three guest bedrooms available at Bruton House, two double
en-suite rooms, and one single room with a separate bathroom. The rooms have recently
been refurbished, along with the guests' sitting room. There is also a terrace, which has
beautiful views over to the Dovecote, St Mary's Church and some wonderful Somerset views
beyond. Guests also have use of the bar downstairs, and, of course the restaurant should they wish
to dine. Well-behaved dogs are always welcome, as are children. Guests are provided with
a selection of morning papers and a breakfast of cereals, local yoghurts and jams, toast,
tea, coffee and juices.
