Since it opened in 2002, Café La Strada has steadily grown in popularity and is now one of the liveliest Coffee bars and eating places in the area. It's owned and run by Jude Kelly who used to own the bakery next door before putting her culinary skills to even greater effect here.

The café here has a European atmosphere and there's a distinct Italian provenance in the décor and the colourful range of kitchen and tableware on sale. The Art Gallery on the 1st floor attracts artists from the area, bringing a wealth of creativity on canvas or photography - changing every calendar month.

Chocolate lovers will be drawn to the enticing display of hand-made Belgian chocolates which are sold both loose and in beautiful boxes, and few can resist sampling one of the 16 different flavours of home-made ice cream, or the wonderful varieties of fruit ices. In good weather, customers can enjoy their refreshments at tables on the pavement and enjoy watching the world go by. La Strada is fully licensed and due to popular demand will be opening a Gallery Restaurant in the summer of 2006- even more reason to pay them a visit. La Strada is open from 8.30am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday; and from 10.30am to 5pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
