Mawnan Smith is about 4 miles south of
Falmouth. In the centre of the village is a thatched pub,
the Red Lion. Carwinion Garden is 200 yards up on
the left-hand side.

Description:

This peaceful 12-acre garden in the Helford
Valley has outstanding collections of bamboo,
camellias, hydrangeas and ferns together with wild flowers
and exotics. The bamboo garden was created by the grandfather of the present owner, Antony
Rogers, whose family have lived at Carwinion House for
over 200 years. The bamboo garden now boasts more than 200 varieties, many of them rare in cultivation.
