Liz and Mike Elford have been providing Bed & Breakfast accommodation for more than 30 years, and since 2001 they have been based at Bay View Farm. Set in 56 acres of lovely countryside, their coastal farm has three top-quality rooms in a modern bungalow (wheelchair access possible), all with en suite facilities, central heating, television and beverage tray, and a sea or rural view. Outstanding in every respect, they are 4-star rated and are worthy recipients of the AA Red Diamond Award for 2007. Rooms are let on a B&B or Dinner, B&B basis.

Liz is a superb cook, so her substantial breakfasts are definitely the right way to start the day, the perfect prelude to a day enjoying the fresh air and discovering the manifold delights the region has to offer. These include bracing walks, boat trips, watching the comings and goings in Looe harbour, golf, riding, fishing, abundant wildlife and the many other attractions, both scenic and historic, for which Cornwall is renowned, including world-famous gardens and several National Trust properties. The nearby Monkey Sanctuary is a popular family attraction, and the farm itself is home to some magnificent shire horses. And after a day's exploring, Liz's home-cooked supper is a treat to look forward to, ending with delicious desserts crowned, of course, with Cornish clotted cream. The exceptional location offers uninterrupted views of Looe and St George's Island, and it's a 10-minute walk along the South West Coast Path to Millendreath Beach, then perhaps beyond to Looe and Polperro. The Bodigga Cliff path leads to Seaton and Downderry. Back at the farm, guests can relax in the lounge or out on the patio and watch the sun go down over Looe.

To find Bay Farm: from Liskeard or Plymouth take the A38 to Trerulfoot roundabout, then follow signs for Looe on the (A387) B3253 to No Mans Land; bear left, following signs for the Monkey Sanctuary for about 2 miles. The Bay View Farm is signposted at this point.
