The Museum is housed in the idealistic setting of an old Victorian railway station and wsd opened
to the public for the firts time on the 17th April 1992, following many years of
the owners amassing cycling memorabilia as a hobby.
Included in the museum is a vast library of cycling reference material and over 1,000
cycling medals, fobs and club badges dating back to
1881. There are window displays of puncture
repairing, chain wheels, ceramic and silver items, model cycles and different types of cycle lighting, as well as showcases of oil tins, maps,
inflators and pop and wine bottles. Ye Old Cycle Workshop is a reconstruction of a typical old
workshop complete with tools and jigs.
In the main exhibition hall, over 400 various cycles are on display, along with a similar
number of enamel advertising signs and posters. A grassy dias features a group of
mannequins dressed
in cycling costumes, having a picnic and surrounded by Victorian solid and pneumatic tyred cycles.
