Ye Derwent Hotel is an exceedingly attractive
inn situated on the A6013 within the charming old village of Bamford, and close to
Ladybower Reservoir. Mine hosts Julie and John Wilson have recently taken over
here, and have already established it as one of the best inns of its kind in the
area. It boasts ten exceedingly comfortable rooms, most of which are fully en
suite. Each one is furnished and decorated to a high standard, ensuring that
your stay here is as enjoyable as possible. It makes the perfect place for an
overnight dinner, B&B stay, B&B only, or as a base from which to explore an area
that is rich in scenery, history and heritage.
The bar is open all day every day, and offers two real
ales in winter and three in the summer, with Ruddles County
being the regular. Plus there is the usual range of fine beers,
lagers, cider, spirits, wines and soft drinks.
The kitchens have recently been refurbished
completely and the outstanding food is served at lunchtimes and
evenings, with a reduced menu in the afternoons. Everything is
home cooked by Julie from fresh, local produce, and you can
make your choice from a blackboard selection.
Children are more than welcome, and the bar and
eating areas are disabled friendly. All credit cards with the
exception of Diners are accepted. Within the hotel, there are
designated no-smoking areas for your comfort.
