Ye Olde Coach & Horses is a traditional
inn dating from the 16th century, located in
Melton, close to the River Deben and just north
of Woodbridge. Easily found a short drive from the main A12, this is definitely a place to return
to again and again for its superb hospitality and outstanding food and drink. Owner Chris Martin and his hardworking staff provide an
unbeatable choice of dishes that really do cater for all tastes and appetites. The à la carte menu in the
beautiful timbered restaurant tempts with the freshest fish and seafood dishes - lemon sole, cod,
haddock, lobster, king, jumbo and tiger prawns - chicken and duck, lamb and pork, and wonderful
Scottish steaks - fillet, sirloin, T-bone, mighty 21oz chateaubriand. This choice is comprehensive
enough, but it's only half the story! The inn also has another, equally appealing outlet, the Cobra Brasserie specialising in Indian dishes headed by curries on all levels of the temperature gauge, from
mild kormas and masalas and baltis up to Madras and vindaloos. Visitors to Ye Olde Coach &
Horses are equally well served on the drinks front: real ales from Adnams, Greene King, Shepherd
Neame, Deuchars and Theakston, John Smiths Smooth, draught Guinness, Scrumpy Jack, the
renowned draught Hoegaarden White Beer, 300+ wines from around the world, loads of champagnes, a
vast selection of spirits including 40 cognacs. The inn is also a top-class business venue, with
seminar and conference rooms, excellent business services and parking for 70 cars.
