Set in 6½ acres of grounds on the outskirts of Workington, the
Westlands Hotel welcomes visitors from all over the world to the Lake District.
This well-established hotel has been providing top-quality accommodation and
function and business facilities for many years, developing a solid reputation
for comfort, service and hospitality.
The hotel
is personally owned and run by David and Iona Sale, who have been restoring the
hotel to the glory days of the 1970s and 1980s, when visits from royalty,
nobility and top politicians were almost an everyday event. Open all year
round, the hotel has 70 superbly appointed en suite guest bedrooms, a number of
which are on the ground floor. The hotel bar is open throughout the day and
serves four resident real ales and guests, and a good selection of other beers
and lagers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Tasty traditional English meals are
served lunchtime and evening, and booking is advised for the popular Sunday
lunch. The adjacent Westlands Theatre stages a varied programme of
entertainment.
