Dominating a stretch of the A17 at Gedney,
Chestnut Tea Rooms & Farm Shop is open
every day, providing visitors with excellent wholesome cooking to enjoy on the
spot and a wide variety of farm and local produce to take away. The farm ceased
operations and the new business evolved - and is still expanding thanks to the
efforts of hardworking owners Nick and Christine Smith.
In the charming tea room, with its cosy country feel,
log-burning fire and bright conservatory extension, waitress service delivers
an appetising menu of snacks, light lunches, traditional desserts and cream
teas. This side of the business quickly took off, and the combination of fine
fresh food, value for money and attentive service has established it as a firm
favourite with the local community and increasingly with motorists and
holidaymakers. Linked to the tea room is a farm shop where an abundance of
produce, from fresh fruit and vegetables to chutneys, preserves and home
baking, makes a tempting display. The garden centre section sells a selection
of gifts, plants, pots, bird tables and bird feed and a superb range of
basketware. Open from 9 to 5 seven days a week.
