The Bay Tree Café Bar

The Courtyard, Thoresby Park, nr Ollerton, Nottinghamshire NG22 9EP

Tel: 01623 825225

Part of the old stable block in the grounds of Thoresby Park is now the Bay Tree Café Bar, a bright modern licensed café with a fine reputation for its fresh, wholesome cooking. Owner Adam Valintine has made this a warm, welcoming place, well decorated and furnished, with 40 seats inside and 40 more in the courtyard.

Croissants, bagels and pastries are served throughout the opening hours (10 to 4 seven days a week, a little later on warmer evenings), while lunchtime brings a much wider selection of hot and cold dishes. The printed menu and the daily changing blackboard lists range from club sandwiches, salads, quiches and jacket potatoes to platters of mixed cheese, charcuterie and smoked fish, haddock & spring onion fishcakes, curries, chilli con carne, lasagne and moussaka. The grand mansion in the park (the largest park in the county) is Thoresby Hall, a Victorian mansion designed by Anthony Salvin and now a private hotel.
