The little village of Killiegh is about 5 miles
south of Tullamore on the N80. If you turn off the
main road at Doyle's pub you'll find Bramble
Cottage about 600 yards on your left. This smart new bungalow was purpose
built for self-catering and being fully equipped to the very highest standards
enjoys a Four Star Rating from the Irish Tourist Board. It has superb pine
flooring and doors throughout, full central heating and a huge bathroom. The two
double bedrooms, one with en-suite and one twin bedroom are very attractively
furnished and decorated.
Owner Isobel Mathews, a local farmer's wife,
has also gone to great lengths to make the whole
bungalow disabled-friendly. The kitchen is
comprehensively equipped with absolutely everything you might need in this relaxing
home-away-from-home. There's also a spacious lounge
with comfortable seating. From the dining area French windows
lead out to the beautifully maintained garden and lawns. The
thriving county town of Tullamore is within easy reach where you
can enjoy cruising along the Grand Canal, or sample a glass
of Tullamore "Dew" Irish whiskey or Irish Mist at the
Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre. Due to its central location
Bramble Cottage is an ideal base for touring Ireland. Children
are welcome.
