Located right in the heart of this historic town.
Ashmore Guest House is a classical Georgian town house, built in 1740 with spacious rooms
12 feet high. Ornate plasterwork, beautiful
fireplaces and mirrors, and elegant furniture all contribute
to the gracious atmosphere. The sitting room is also in the Georgian style with a large open
fireplace, a relaxing setting in which to sit and make your plans for the next day's exploration of Cashel
and the Tipperary countryside.
Ashmore House is the home of Brendan and Laura Ryan who have
been welcoming guests for bed and breakfast accommodation for more than a
decade. They have 5 tastefully decorated letting rooms, all of which have en suite
facilities and are equipped with colour cable television, hospitality tray, hair dryer,
iron and ironing board. In the morning, guests are provided with an extensive
breakfast menu that includes locally-made
sausages, fine bacon and home-made bread. Breakfasts are freshly cooked to order
and served in the spacious dining room. In the evening, guests can relax in our
sitting room or visit any of the fine restaurants and pubs nearby where you can enjoy an evening of fine food, good fun and entertainment.
Details of all Cashel's restaurants, pubs and entertainment establishments are
provided. Unusually for a town centre location,
Ashmore House has its own walled garden, a lovely
and peaceful sanctuary, and also offers private
car parking facilities.
The house's central location means that all the town's attractions are just a short walk
away. The world-famous Rock of Cashel crowned by historic buildings is a must-visit site and,
during the summer months, nearby Bru Boru offers
an authentic celebration of traditional Irish
culture in music, song and dance. The house is
within two minutes walk of the main churches,
local restaurants, traditional bars and an Internet cafe, and is also convenient to the Bolton
Library, Cashel Heritage Centre, and Bothan Scor. Lovers of Guinness will surely want to see
the exact place where on August 17th,
1740, Richard Guinis discovered the now world famous "Guinness Stout". You can also see
the remains of the original Hop Plants used in the making of the famous brew.
Recreational activities in the area include golfing,
fishing, horse-riding, pitch and putt, tennis and
walking. It is also possible to rent a bike if you wish
to cycle through the beautiful countryside.
