Penny and James Crowe welcome visitors from all over the world to their home in a
picturesque hamlet in a rural setting close to Cartmel.
They offer outstanding self-catering in The
Byre, a self-catering holiday cottage next to their
handsome farmhouse on a 120-acre beef farm. The centrally heated
two-bedroom cottage was renovated as part of a barn conversion
and combines period charm and character with all the
modern conveniences. The kitchen has everything needed for
a carefree, independent stay, with fitted pine units,
electric cooker and microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle
and crockery. It has a separate dining area, and a small flight
of stairs leads to a roomy lounge with a three-piece
suite, electric fire and TV/DVD player.
The cottage is open all year round and children over 5 are very welcome (but no pets). The Byre
is close to many excellent walks and many other
activities, including climbing, sailing, fishing, riding and golf.
Nearby Cartmel, one of the prettiest villages in the Peninsula,
has plenty to interest the visitor, including the gatehouse of
the Priory, the marvellous Church of St Mary & St Michael,
the summer National Hunt racing
.and sticky toffee pudding.
