Eighteenth-century farm buildings are now a pleasant and popular residential inn lounge,
tap room and restaurant. The Sandford Arms enjoys a picturesque location a mile or so
off the A66 in a charming village by the River Eden. Hosts Stephen and Nicola
Porter welcome visitors into a traditional ambience
of beams and exposed stonework, with Black Sheep
ales and good, wholesome food served every session
(except Tuesday lunchtime) and all day on Sunday. The Sandford Arms also has
very comfortable letting rooms with en suite facilities, TV, telephone, beverage tray
and stunning views, and also has four rods on the River Eden, renowned for its brown trout.
