Country roads lead from the A591 and A595 to the quiet village of Snittlegarth, where Roddy and
Ros Green provide superior self-catering accommodation in two luxurious pine
lodges. Snittlegarth Lodges were created and opened
as recently as January 2007 but have already won many friends. Open all year round, they
have superbly appointed interiors that contain everything needed for a relaxing,
come-as-you-please holiday.
Each lodge sleeps up to four guests, and short breaks
are available at certain times of the year. The woodland setting
is home to abundant wildlife, including red squirrels, and
this whole area, at the top end of the Lake District national Park,
is great walking country. The attractions hereabouts are
many and varied: rambling and birdwatching around Bassenthwaite Lake, climbing
on Skiddaw, spectacular scenery and Trotters World of
Animals, providing a great day out for all the family.
