Val and Paul Brook and their son Graham run Aunty Val's Tea Rooms one of the most popular places for visitors, as well as with the residents of Bowness. Eating here really is like having tea in your favourite aunt's house: cosy, civilised, with a special old-fashioned atmosphere - and super cooking to go with it. Val and Paul use local produce on a wide choice of quality dishes, from soups and omelettes, pies and quiches and Cumberland sausage to scones, chocolate fudge cake and ginger sponge. They also sell luxury preserves and other gifts to take home. Open 11 to 5 (closed Fridays in winter).
