Three miles north of Longtown on the main A7, March Bank Hotel & The
Sportsman's Restaurant occupies a Victorian villa set
in four acres of mature gardens close to the River Esk. It's owned and personally run
by the Moore family, who ensure a warm welcome and excellent
service in both hotel and restaurant. The
wide-ranging lunch and dinner menus highlight prime local produce such
as Lakeland game, Esk salmon and trout and raspberries from across the border.
For resident guests the hotel has six attractive
en suite bedrooms, one with a four-poster. A generous breakfast starts the day, and
packed lunches are available.
