The Ivy House Hotel & Restaurant occupies
a Grade II listed early-18th century building in a central position in the charming village
of Hawkshead. Run by Rob (an ex-Rugby Union professional) and Julia Treeby with the
valued assistance of Bradley and Jessica, it is well known throughout the region and is
highly recommended for quality in everything it offers.
Many visitors have become loyal regulars, either to eat or to stay.
The chef makes excellent of the best and
freshest produce, as much of it as possible from local sources,
in his tempting menus, which are served every evening
from 6.30 to last orders at 9 o'clock. The restaurant ahs a
warm, intimate feel that makes it an ideal choice
for a romantic meal or a special treat; non-residents
must book. Six beautifully appointed bedrooms (5 en suite,
the other with an adjacent private bathroom) are in the
main house, with five more in Mere Lodge just across
the drive. All have televisions, hairdryers and hot
drinks trays.
