In the heart of Barrow, the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel & Bar
has been transformed by licensee Barry Ellis from
a sad state of disrepair into the toast of the town. The bar
area opened after refurbishment in October 2006
and 18 guest bedrooms came on stream in August 2007.
This number will shortly be increased to 30, all with super kingsize
beds, luxury en suite bathrooms and flat-screen
TV. The bar stocks an impressive eight real ales, and a good selection of home-cooked food
is served at lunchtime Tuesday to Thursday, from 12 to 9 Friday and Saturday and
from 12 to 5 on Sunday. |
