The four-star Blarghour Farm Cottages are truly outstanding self-catering cottages in Argyll. This is holiday accommodation at its very best, and yet at amazingly reasonable prices. They sit on a working hill farm on the shores of beautiful Loch Awe, and offer a holiday experience in a part of Scotland that is truly spectacular and filled with history. There are four cottages on offer, one of which has wheelchair access, so is ideal for the disabled. Each one is beautifully appointed, with a fully equipped kitchen, superb furnishings and great views out over Loch Awe. Barr-Beithe Upper is the largest of the cottages, and sleeps six people in three bedrooms - a double (with king-sized bed), a twin (with beds that zip together to form a double) and a further twin. The cottage is all on the one level. It also boasts a spacious conservatory with glorious views.

Barr-Beithe Lower sleeps five, and has three bedrooms - a double, a twin (with beds that can zip together to form a double) and a further single. All rooms are on the same level, and there is a wheelchair ramp at the entrance. The Stable sleeps four in two twin bedrooms, each with beds that can zip together to form doubles. One of the features of this cottage is a handsome spiral staircase. The Barn is the smallest of the cottages, and sleeps two in one bedroom with twin beds that can covert to a double.

Each cottage is double-glazed, and boasts a cosy yet spacious lounge where you can relax and enjoy the great views. The kitchens all boast a cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, iron and ironing board, washer, and a host of other labour saving devices. Each cottage has a well-appointed bathroom, and in addition Barr-Beithe Upper and Barr-Beithe Lower also have shower rooms. Each cottage has a colour TV, telephone, double-glazing, gas fires and plenty of car parking space. The cottages are open all year round, and short winter breaks are available between November and the end of March.

The countryside surrounding the Blarghour Holiday Cottages is rugged and spectacular, yet they are only an hour's drive from all that the bustling town of Oban has to offer with its restaurants, pubs and supermarkets and Inveraray with its famous castle and jail only 35 minutes away.
