Café Monet has an attractive lavender and
black frontage with the famous artist's signature dominating the awning. The interior is
equally attractive with exposed brick walls and beams, and
wooden flooring and furniture. Enid and Russ Daniels took
over here in 2004 after running a guest house in
Llandudno for three years before that.
Their menu offers a huge choice of hot and cold food, including an All Day Mega Breakfast and a
variety of filled breakfast rolls. Light bites include a
home-made soup of the day, hot garlic baguette with
cheese or simply a scone with butter. Other options
include jacket potatoes, omelettes, pasta dishes, toasties,
hot ciabatta and foccacia sandwiches and some
delicious desserts. Wherever possible, everything on the menu
is based on local Welsh produce and offered at value
for money prices. In addition to the regular menu,
daily specials are listed on the blackboard and might
include dishes such as hot bacon with melted Brie
and cranberry on a large roll.
The café seats 30 inside and 12 more at tables
on the pavement, and also offers a takeaway service. It
is open from 8.30am to around 4pm, Monday to
Saturday. Children are welcome; payment is by cash or
cheque only.
