Llanerchymedd is about the most central village on the Isle of Anglesey and stands close to
Llyn Alaw, the island's largest lake (actually a man-made
reservoir).
The village is also worth seeking out to pay a visit to
The Bull Inn where Mandi Abrahams is the welcoming host. Mandi actually grew up in
a pub, more recently ran a wine bar in
Denbighshire before taking over The Bull in the spring of
2007. Already the locals are very fond of her and
visitors are beginning to seek the place out from
further afield. The inn is open all day, every day, for ale
with Marston's Burton Bitter as the regular real ale with
a guest rotating ale. Tasty bar snacks are available
every lunchtime and evening, and are based on fresh
local produce as far as possible. Payment is by cash only.
The Bull is a lively place, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings when there's karaoke twice
a month; live music evening once a month and a disco,
also once a month. Sky TV and Sports are installed and there's
also a pool room. During the lifetime of this edition, Mandi
hopes to also offer accommodation and camping spaces, so if
you are thinking of staying in this agreeable place, it would
be worth giving her a call.
