Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant is in a perfect location, nestling in the picturesque Welsh
Berwyn Mountains. If it looks a bit familiar, perhaps
you saw the Hugh Grant film The Englishman who went
up a Hill but came down a Mountain which was
filmed around here.
Surrounded by this spectacular countryside is
Bron Heulog, pronounced Bron hay-log and meaning
`Sunny Bank`. Built in 1861, this beautiful and spacious
Victorian house stands in a steeply sloping terraced garden.
The house has stone walls 2 feet thick and many
original features are still in place, including the magnificent
curved oak staircase, and all the original fireplaces.
Bron Heulog is the home of Diane and Peter
Crocker who offer visitors the choice of either B&B or
self-catering accommodation. B&B guests stay in the main house where there are 3 attractive
guest bedrooms, all en suite and all with original Victorian
fireplaces and very high ceilings. Colour TV and
tea/coffee-making facilities are provided in all rooms. If you prefer
self-catering, Garden Cottage is situated in the grounds of Bron Heulog
and is a completely renovated charming Victorian cottage with
a conservatory and fully-equipped modern kitchen. The
cottage has one double bedroom.
