The Bell in Driffield is a simply
superb premises situated in the centre of town. Owners George and Rita Riggs
have been here for 30 years, and their experience shows in every aspect of this
wonderful inn.
The handsome and comfortable dining room is
open for everything from morning coffee (9.30-11.30), lunch (12-1.30) and
afternoon teas (2-4.30) through to dinner and bar meals (served 7-9.30). With
main courses such as broiled salmon fillet, lamb cutlets, oven-roasted breast of
duckling, leek and cheddar tartlets and a selection of steaks, there's something
delicious to satisfy every appetite. The excellent Sunday lunch is worth a
special visit, with a selection of meals including grilled plaice, roast sirloin
of beef, duckling or pork with all the trimmings, and vegetarian options such as
spinach and ricotta cannelloni or spicy mushroom stroganoff. And don't forget to
leave room for dessert, which includes mouthwatering choices such as vanilla
cheesecake, dark chocolate cup, sticky toffee pudding and raspberry Pavlova. All
dishes are expertly prepared using the freshest locally-sourced ingredients.
The accommodation, available all year round
except at Christmas, comprises 16 luxurious and individually designed and
decorated rooms, all ensuite and some located on the ground floor. Guests can
stay on a B&B or dinner and B&B basis, and The Bell has been awarded a rating of
3 Stars for accommodation by the ETC. No children under the age of 16.
All this and we've not even mentioned the
