The Bell in Driffield is a simply superb premises situated in the centre of town. Owners George and Rita Riggs have been here for 30 years, and their experience shows in every aspect of this wonderful inn.

The handsome and comfortable dining room is open for everything from morning coffee (9.30-11.30), lunch (12-1.30) and afternoon teas (2-4.30) through to dinner and bar meals (served 7-9.30). With main courses such as broiled salmon fillet, lamb cutlets, oven-roasted breast of duckling, leek and cheddar tartlets and a selection of steaks, there's something delicious to satisfy every appetite. The excellent Sunday lunch is worth a special visit, with a selection of meals including grilled plaice, roast sirloin of beef, duckling or pork with all the trimmings, and vegetarian options such as spinach and ricotta cannelloni or spicy mushroom stroganoff. And don't forget to leave room for dessert, which includes mouthwatering choices such as vanilla cheesecake, dark chocolate cup, sticky toffee pudding and raspberry Pavlova. All dishes are expertly prepared using the freshest locally-sourced ingredients.

The accommodation, available all year round except at Christmas, comprises 16 luxurious and individually designed and decorated rooms, all ensuite and some located on the ground floor. Guests can stay on a B&B or dinner and B&B basis, and The Bell has been awarded a rating of 3 Stars for accommodation by the ETC. No children under the age of 16.

All this and we've not even mentioned the outstanding extra facilities, which include the on-site Driffield Spa where guests can relax, unwind and indulge in the spa and saunarium, with a selection of water, heat, massage and steam treatments, physioacoustic chair (which helps to alleviate back pain and stress, reduce high blood pressure and ease the symptoms of arthritis), floatation chamber and more. There's a range of spa days on offer or guests can create their own tailor-made package. Open: Monday to Friday 9 a.m.-9.30 p.m, Saturday and Sunday 10-5. There's also a first-class gym with state-of-the-art facilities, swimming pool, jacuzzi and squash court.
