Situated right next door to the well-known
Ryedale Folk Museum, in the picturesque village of Hutton-le-Hole on the edge of
the North York Moors National Park, The Barn Hotel & Tea Rooms have
earned an enviable reputation for excellent accommodation and as a charming
place to stop for a cuppa and something tasty to eat. Owned by Brian and Janet
Thomson, who are wonderful hosts, there are seven tastefully decorated and
furnished spacious ensuite guest bedrooms.
The residents' lounge is attractive and
welcoming, with open fire for cool evenings, and the licensed tea rooms (open
daily mid-March to mid-November 10.30-5) serve wines and beers as well as a
range of teas and coffees, homemade cakes, puddings, bread and both snacks
(soups, sandwiches, pates and more) and substantial meals such as Sunday roasts,
all delicious and prepared by Janet using the freshest local produce where
possible.
