Three nineteenth-century weavers' cottages
near Golcar Parish Church are the home of the museum. See the life and work of
the 19th century in restored period rooms - the loom chamber with
working hand looms and a Spinning Jenny, the weaver's living room of 1850 and a
gas-lit clogger's shop of 1910. The museum is run entirely by its members. On
two weekends a year a craft and working weekend is held when there are many
different crafts being demonstrated. The museum has featured on TV and is
recommended by the Good Museum Guide
Open: Sat, Sun and Bank holidays 2pm-5pm
except Christmas and New Year. Facilities for schools. Shop and light
refreshments. Admission Charge.
