Bettles Gallery is housed in a 300-year-old building with oak beams, low ceilings and an inglenook fireplace. The gallery specialises in British studio ceramics and contemporary paintings and over the years has built up a first-class reputation for the quality of the work on display. The eight or nine solo or group exhibitions held each year attract collectors from far afield. Work from leading potters and promising newcomers is always available and interesting ceramic jewellery and carefully selected paintings, mostly by artists from the South of England with leanings towards impressionistic and the abstract, are also on display.
