The Hidden Places of Cornwall
is a beautifully illustrated guide and explores Cornwall
in a relaxed narrative style. It contains a wealth of
interesting information on the history, the countryside, the
towns and villages and the more established visitor
attractions, but it also focuses on promoting the lesser
known places of interest and places to stay, eat and drink.
Cornwall has been described as "an isolated beauty that
contains some of the most dramatic and spectacular scenery
in the country". It is surrounded by rugged coastlines and
has often been referred to as the 'English Riviera'
encompassing pretty fishing ports, secluded scenic villages,
narrow winding lanes and strong, romantic seafaring
traditions. This is a land of strong Celtic heritage and
ancestry, a place dotted with monuments such as crosses,
holy wells and prehistoric sites and where legends of old
still hold their romance amongst the Cornish people.
