The Hidden Places of Devon
is a beautifully illustrated guide and explores Devon in a
relaxed narrative style. It contains a wealth of interesting
information on the history, the countryside, the towns and
villages and the established visitor attractions, but it
also focuses on promoting the lesser known places of
interest and places to stay, eat and drink.
Devon is a beautiful county which is dotted with delightful little
towns, quaint stone villages and eye-catching landscapes.
Its lush green rolling hills are intersected with bright
fresh streams and wooded valleys and it is also home to the
National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor (which it shares with
Somerset), two areas of outstanding natural beauty. Both
parks have spectacular scenery with bleak uplands and
isolated moorland stretching out towards the impressive
coastlines of the north and south of the county.
