Motorways can normally provide
the quickest route across country but they are also very
busy and can be a tiring experience for the driver
particularly during the tourist seasons. As a result many
travellers, whether on business or pleasure, seek a relaxing
place off the motorway to eat, drink or shop. Additionally
drivers require to fill up with fuel, are looking for places
of interest to visit or may even wish to break their journey
by staying somewhere overnight.
Off the Motorway is a
comprehensive guide to facilities located close to each
motorway junction as well as between junctions and also
includes details of places of interest to be found along the
route. It covers all the key motorways in England, Scotland
and Wales. Off the Motorway is a 'must-have' guide
which provides travellers not only with information on
places to stay, but also information on many more essential
facilities such as Accident & Emergency hospitals, disabled
facilities, toilets, cash dispensers, children's play areas,
credit cards, business facilities and much more. Satellite
Navigation is now an integral part of motorway travel and
this edition includes addresses and postcodes for all
facilities in the guide ensuring a trouble-free arrival at
the destination.
The
writers
Paul & Shirley Smith have been
writing since 1986 when they edited a leading railway
magazine. Since then they have researched and published a
number of specialist railway titles including British
Railways Motive Power and Depots and the Directory of
British Engine Sheds and Principal Locomotive Servicing
Points. It was the curiosity aroused about a damaged bridge
whilst driving along the M5 and the lack of information on
the facilities and places of interest available at each
junction that led them to write a book specifically about
motorways. Six years later and the authors have now
completed the 4th edition having travelled thousands of
miles in their research of the country's leading motorways! Available in
all major bookstores, independent bookshops
and internet booksellers |
