Sitting within 20 acres of land, the four star
Y Goeden Eirin is a superb bed and breakfast establishment that
offers comfortable, spacious yet cosy, accommodation at
affordable prices. There is a double room in the main house that boasts
a TV, settee, desk, small dressing room and bathroom.
An outhouse has been tastefully converted to offer two
further rooms, called Cwt Môr and Cwt Mynydd (Sea and
Mountain Rooms). Cwt Môr has twin beds, and has shelves full of
books in English and Welsh, while Cwt Mynydd has a double bed
and an old Welsh oak dresser. Each room has a TV, cafetière
and herbal tea making facilities. The B&B is owned and
personally managed by Eluned and John Rowlands, and they place
great emphasis on making their guests very welcome, so much
so that a carafe of sherry, fresh fruit or Welsh biscuits await
them in the rooms. In the summer months, it is possible to eat out of doors at the traditional
slate table, admiring the surrounding scenery.
Though Y Goeden Eirin is not a restaurant in the conventional sense, both Eluned and
John place great emphasis on food, and arriving here for a meal is like visiting a family home
and eating with them. The establishment can hold up 12 to 15 diners in its dining room, which has
a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The food is all homemade from only the finest locally
sourced produce wherever possible. If you have special dietary needs, they can be discussed by
phone beforehand. Y Goeden Eirin has a restaurant licence, so you can enjoy a drink with your meal.
